CULTURAL EXTRAVAGANZA TO CELEBRATE INDIAN NEW YEAR ON 15/04/2011 FRIDAY (6.00pm)
A cultural extravanganza will be held to celebrate the Indian New Year -- a combined celebration of the Tamil, Telugu,Malayalee and Sikh New Year -- at the Mines Resort City Convention Hall on 15th April 2011 Friday.
MIC president Datuk G. Palanivel said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun
Razak and wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, would attend the cultural event, in
conjunction with the launch of Astro''s special Community News Bulletin for the
Indians to be broadcast every Saturday and Sunday.
"The new Community News Bulletin on Astro Vaanavil will help to articulate
plans and vision and how the community can be re-energised, revitalised,
empowered and enriched," he said in a statement today.
He said the event, expected to attract about 10,000 people, would be
telecast live on Astro Vaanavil, Channel 201 and High Definition (HD) Channel
222.
It will also feature popular local artistes and guest artistes from India,
including music director Vijay Anthony, singers Neha Bhasin and Naresh Iyer,
dancers Ragasia and Megna Naidu.
